Red, was the visual cue to focus on Konshens when he emerged as a promising dancehall talent in 2011. Konshens stood out with red dyed hair, as bold as his declaration of power, desire, and excitement in songs such as “Gal A Bubble,” “Do Sumn!” and “Stop Sign.” These anthems were instant hits with dancehall DJs in Jamaica.

In 2016, Konshens had one of the biggest dancehall songs of the year, “Bruk Off Yuh Back.” Like Konshens’ previous hit songs, “Bruk Off Yuh Back” was also a mainstay on urban radio. Konshens was interviewed by Ebro Darden on Hot 97’s morning show where he discussed the origin of Bruk Off Yuh Back” as a dance in Jamaica on the Moskato Riddim and the lyrics. While the original track has over nine million streams on Spotify, the video has over 51 million views on YouTube. The latest contribution of a verse by Chris Brown has given more life to the record titled, “Bruk Off Yuh Back,” released by EMPIRE. The collaboration with Chris Brown follows Konshens’ star-studded resumé of collabs with The Chainsmokers, Cardi B, Fabolous, and Jamie XX. “Bruk Off Yuh Back” is Konshens’ first release for EMPIRE, the home to some of the hottest hip hop and R&B artists (Anderson .Paak, Young Dolph, D.R.A.M., Fat Joe, Remy Ma and XXXTentacion). Konshens is the first dancehall artist with a label deal on EMPIRE
