Candice Glover was crowned the winner of “American Idol” Season 12, and chose “I Am Beautiful” as her coronation song. It was co-written by Jaden Michaels, with vocal production by Anne Preven and Sean Walsh. The song was mixed by Tony Maserati, and Ely Rise played keys. This is the 2nd straight year that Pulse has had the “American Idol” coronation song, following “Home” by Phillip Phillips, which has gone on to become the greatest selling single by any “Idol” contestant in the show’s 12 year history

Tyler Lyle announced a set of new tour dates today, taking him from the west coast to the east coast. He is currently in the studio working on his next music release, and will be premiering the video for his song “Werewolf” soon. With a full length album, EP’s, and a live album under his belt, Tyler Lyle is poised to become a breakthrough artist in 2013.

Pulse clients Bonnie McKee and Tim Pagnotta took home awards at the 61st Annual BMI Pop Awards. Mckee was recognized for her songwriting work on Katy Perry’s “Part of Me,” and “Wide Awake,” as well as Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me,” which have sold a combined 9 million units worldwide. Pagnotta was recognized for his work with Neon Trees on their single “Everybody Talks” which has sold 2.5 million copies in the US alone. The track was produced by Matt Rad with vocal production by Anne Preven, and this is the second album by Demi Lovato featuring Pulse client collaborations. In its review of Demi, pop music blog Idolator describes “Nightingale” as a “triumphant slice of melodrama that Lovato demolishes best.”

Celine Dion has announced the release of her first English-speaking album since 2007, titled Water and a Flame. The album name comes from the title track “Water and a Flame,” which is a cover of Pulse client Daniel Merriweather’s original version, which he co-wrote with writer/producer Eg White. White is producing Dion’s new album. Daniel Merriweather’s original version featured Adele and was produced by Mark Ronson

It has become the #1 song on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, which represents a combined total of radio airplay and music sales across the US. The single will surpass 2 million units sold this week, the video has been viewed 84 million times, and this is P!nk’s fourth single to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Congrats Tony and P!nk!
