Conway & Anne Preven – Star Trek

Along with director JJ Abrams, Pulse clients Conway and Anne Preven co-wrote “The Growl” featured in Abrams’ new film “Star Trek: Into Darkness” which currently tops the US box office. “The Growl” is performed by Conway and is featured as a bonus track on the film’s soundtrack, along with an incredible score by composer Michael Giacchino

Pulse @ 2013 BMI Pop Awards

Pulse clients Bonnie McKee and Tim Pagnotta took home awards at the 61st Annual BMI Pop Awards. Mckee was recognized for her songwriting work on Katy Perry’s “Part of Me,” and “Wide Awake,” as well as Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me,” which have sold a combined 9 million units worldwide. Pagnotta was recognized for his work with Neon Trees on their single “Everybody Talks” which has sold 2.5 million copies in the US alone. We send our congratulations to these very talented songwriters!

Demi Lovato / Pulse Clients – “Nightingale”

Pulse clients Anne Preven, Matt Rad and Felicia Barton co-wrote “Nightingale” which appears on the new album Demi by Demi Lovato. The track was produced by Matt Rad with vocal production by Anne Preven, and this is the second album by Demi Lovato featuring Pulse client collaborations. In its review of Demi, pop music blog Idolator describes “Nightingale” as a “triumphant slice of melodrama that Lovato demolishes best.”

Oliver remixes Blondie with Thee Mike B

In celebration of reaching 10,000 Twitter followers, Oliver is giving a free remix to their fans. The duo teamed up with Thee Mike B to remix Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.” Oliver will be hitting the road again this Summer, in promotion of their Mechanical EP on Fool’s Gold Records. They are currently planning a video release for the track “Night Is On My Mind” from the Mechanical EP.

Peter Thomas – Phoenix Remix

Writer/Producer Peter Thomas remixed Phoenix’s new single “Entertainment,” which premiered today on All Things Go. This is Thomas’ first release as a remixer, and has him venturing into indie dance and nu-disco sounds, much different than his work as a writer/producer with pop artists like Selena Gomez and Betty Who

Celine Dion / Daniel Merriweather

Celine Dion has announced the release of her first English-speaking album since 2007, titled Water and a Flame. The album name comes from the title track “Water and a Flame,” which is a cover of Pulse client Daniel Merriweather’s original version, which he co-wrote with writer/producer Eg White. White is producing Dion’s new album. Daniel Merriweather’s original version featured Adele and was produced by Mark Ronson

Tony Maserati / P!nk – Billboard Hot 100

The latest single from P!nk, “Just Give Me A Reason” which features Nate Ruess of fun. was mixed by Pulse client Tony Maserati. It has become the #1 song on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, which represents a combined total of radio airplay and music sales across the US. The single will surpass 2 million units sold this week, the video has been viewed 84 million times, and this is P!nk’s fourth single to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Congrats Tony and P!nk!

Carly Rae Jepsen / Pulse – 2013 Junos

Carly Rae Jepsen’s album Kiss took home Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year honors at the 2013 Juno Awards held on April 21st. The album features co-writes and productions by a group of talented Pulse clients which includes Josh Abraham, Bonnie McKee, Oliver “Oligee” Goldstein, Dallas Austin, Cory Enemy, Mighty Mike, Jaden Michaels, and Ryan Williams. Jepsen also took home the Single of the Year award for her worldwide multi-platinum hit “Call Me Maybe”
