Natalie Hemby – ACM Song of the Year
On a night that set a world record for the “Most Attended Live Award Show” with more than 70,000 people there, the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards honored Natalie Hemby as a songwriter of Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic” winning the prestigious “Song of the Year” award. The millions of people around the world who tuned into the television broadcast saw Hemby accepting her award on stage and turning to Lambert saying “I hope I can be your Dean Dillon, cause you’re my George Strait.” Natalie co-wrote 7 songs on Lambert’s award-winning album Platinum and also has cuts on current releases by Little Big Town, Keith Urban, and Halestorm. We also recognize Luke Laird and our partners Creative Nation for Luke’s honor of being named Songwriter of the Year.
