Biography

Kwame Nkrumah pka emawk is an all in one genre-bending artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer born in Boston, raised in Kenya, and currently based in NYC. He has spent the last couple of years writing and producing across his artist project, emawk, which has been majorly self contained with the exception of a few select collaborators. Kwame’s versatility and romantic approach to songwriting brings listeners back to specific and meaningful life moments, and has led him to organically connect with other artists and creatives such as Jorja Smith, Kacey Musgraves, Erick Arc Elliott (Flatbush Zombies) and more. Emawk recently co-wrote and co-produced “Gone” by Jorja Smith, his single “Ache” was sampled on Curren$y and Fuse’s single “Stuck”, and has been working closely with Algee Smith on his upcoming project.
