When Foster the People’s single “Sit Next to Me” first hit radio in July 2017, it was a slow beginning and pointing to signs that the band wasn’t going to wipe the “one hit wonder” monkey off its back. Fast forward to 1 year later and the track is a Top 10 hit at Hot AC radio having held a chart position for 29 straight weeks, and is a Top 20 hit at Top 40 radio with a run that has lasted 21 weeks. The song was co-written by Josh Abraham, Oligee, and Johnnie Newman and was co-produced by Abraham and Oligee. “Sit Next to Me” is approaching a Top 50 position on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been streamed more than 100 million times between Spotify and YouTube. The single was certified Gold by the RIAA in May 2018
