Trevor Daniel’s “Falling” Soars To #1 at Top 40 Radio
Originally released on Alamo Records in October 2018 from an unknown artist out of Houston, Trevor Daniel’s “Falling” is one of the great artist development stories over the past several years. It’s a new prototype for what an impactful song can do to penetrate mainstream culture, no matter how long that may take, and by any means necessary. “Falling” was originally fueled by widespread sharing on TikTok, that had the song rank in the top 10 on Spotify’s global chart for months, eventually surpassing 1 billion combined music streams. In a radio run that started back in December 2019, the song rose a final notch to #1 this week to dethrone The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.” “Falling” reached the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it has been certified 2X Platinum by the RIAA, and is Daniel’s first #1 radio single.
